Evergem 2008 Show reportage

The Belgian kennels are worldwide know as High quality producers. Some kennel names as De Costalina (Papillons), Van de Paterhoek (Dogue de Bordeaux) and Of The Swift Cotton are very well known.
The Belgian Kennel Club limited the number of litters at 2 per year. This can motivate Belgian breeders to produce “Top” dogs.
To become a Champion of Belgium, the dog has to collect 4 CAC under 3 different judges in one year and one day. The Brussells dog show is very competitive as the CAC is doubled.
Whereas in France, we have different specialties, one Clubmatch and one Championship dog show, the Coton lovers in Belgium have to wait for the annual Clubmatch to be together.
In 2008, the show was in Evergem. But this time, there was a full “team” of French contests for this very friendly dog show.

The judge, Mrs. Chantal ROSSIER, came from SWITZERLAND.
We also celebrated the 20th anniversary of this event. What a nice opportunity for us to be there with the staff of the Club!

The programm was perfectly respected and the judgements started at 10 with the male baby class.
The big winner of this show was Enzyenzo Of The Swift Cotton (owner: Mr & Mrs. Cloudt Bergh Toos from NL). He not only won the CAC and the BOB, he also finished his Belgian Title.

The reserve was given to the Champion Male, CH. Nice Guy From Angel Station (owner: Mrs. WUBBEN from NL).
The Champion female, KIDERO’S EASY DOES IT (owner: Mrs. Wagenaar from NL), won the CAC.
The reserve was given to Bright Star Des Jardins de Gossypium (owner: Mrs. Vincent from France).

The French delegation also had some excellent results:
- 1st in young male class: Cupidon Des Petits Lutins Blancs (owner: Mr & Mrs Cagnard)
- 1st in young female class: Candy Des Fleurs de Pommiers (owner: Mr. Lepage)
- 1st in intermediary female class: Bahia Des Sirènes du Cap La Houssaye (owner: Mr. PASCHA)
Cupidon was the Best Young.

Personaly speaking, I really appreciated the quality of the dogs. The babies were very very promissing and I pretty sure they will be awarded next year. I particularly appreciated the female Godiva Of The Swift Cotton (very dynamic with a gorgeous head) and the male Giggles Of The Cotton Mania (very masculine with a wonderful coat for a such young dog).

It was also a pleasure to meet a such wonderful old female, Laya Du Cottage Du Blanc Sceau. She will celebrate her 13rd anniversary. What a wonderful coat for an old dog.

We will meet next year at this dog show to eat the traditional ham...
